The Award Letter
Each school to which you're accepted will send you an award letter showing the types (e.g., grants, work study, federal loans) and amounts of financial support the school is able to provide for the upcoming year. The financial aid listed on the award letter may be a combination of federal, university, state, private or other funds, and is determined by the information you provided on the FAFSA.
If you're accepted to more than one school, compare the different aid packages and academic programs to select the college that best meets your family's financial needs and your education goals. If your financial situation is now different-for instance, you've received additional aid or your family income has changed-notify the schools so they can adjust the award package accordingly.
Once you’ve selected a school and negotiated the final aid package, notify the other schools so they can offer admission and financial aid to other eligible applicants.
