Stafford Loan Requirements
To be eligible for federal Stafford undergraduate or graduate student loans, you must meet a few requirements:
- A U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen
- Enrolled at least half-time in a degree or certificate program
- A high school graduate (or have an equivalency diploma)
- Current (not in default) on any of your existing federal education loans
