Requirements: Two letters of recommendation, along with a written discussion of how the Math in Moscow program may help your development as a math or computer science student and how the program fits with your future plans

Award Amount: $100,000 first place, $50,000 second place, $40,000 third place, $30,000 fourth place, $20,000 fifth place, $10,000 sixth place, $3,000 for regional winners, $1,000 for regional finalists

Requirements: One research project in the fields of mathematics, engineering, neuroscience, or the biological or physical sciences

Award Amount: $1,000 (four winners)

Available to: Undergraduate biology majors currently enrolled in a course in general biology or to any student who has successfully completed a general biology course between June 2006 and June 2008
Requirements: Letter of recommendation from your biology professor and a one- to two-page letter to an elected official at the local, state, or national level that expresses your opinion about a biology-related issue

Award Amount: $20,000
Deadline: December 1, 2008
Available to: Undergraduate and graduate students from NCIIA member institutions
Requirements: Grant proposal for an innovative product or technology from idea to prototype to market, including an abstract (max 250 words) with your top three objectives, proposal narrative (max five pages), support for your proposal from your department chair and the principal investigator, evaluation and sustainability plan, and budget template detailing use of grant funds. You may also submit, through YouTube, a 60-second video “elevator pitch” describing your project.
